It’s only natural that as your pet gets older, their body and health changes. When you notice shifts in their enthusiasm or movements, those could be signs of arthritis. This happens when the cartilage protecting their joints starts to thin, causing pain and discomfort. There are ways to relieve that pain, medically and non-medically, that you can do at home (e.g. soft bedding) or with us (e.g. acupuncture). There are many signs of arthritis. Sometimes your pet will become less active inside and outside the house. Sitting down and getting up may take some time and their posture may become stiff. They may dislike being touched in certain areas, or at all, and their typical interests may not attract them anymore. Arthritis’ development is hard to see coming. It can be genetic or occur after injuries. As a result, it is difficult to prevent. Some deterrent measures you can try is ensuring your furry friend keeps a healthy diet and weight for their breed. This can be done by creating a nutritional plan and encouraging regular exercise.
